Hey there, photography enthusiasts and golf fans! Today, I’m sharing a truly unforgettable experience from my first professional golf tournament—the Epson Tour Championship at Indian Wells this past October.
Stepping into a New Challenge
As a family photographer, my world often revolves around laughter, movement, and the occasional joyful chaos. So, stepping onto the serene greens of Indian Wells Golf Resort from October 3-6, 2024, was a delightful shift in pace. The vibrant green fairways stretched like an endless carpet under the desert sun, creating a visually striking backdrop for this high-level competition.
What struck me most wasn’t just the sheer beauty of the course, but the atmosphere of quiet intensity. This wasn’t my usual photoshoot where I guide families with laughter and prompts—this was a space of focus and respect. Whispering instructions and clicking the shutter in near silence were new, but thrilling challenges I embraced.

One of the highlights of this experience was capturing the incredible Amari Avery in action. Having recently turned professional in May 2024, Amari already exudes the confidence and skill of a seasoned athlete. Watching her in her element—every swing filled with precision and grace—was nothing short of inspiring.
